Flag fabric – for indoor and outdoor use
Flag is a transparent polyester fabric with a very fine structure. The material is weather-resistant, washable, and particularly wind-permeable thanks to its open structure. This makes it ideal for outdoor use without being immediately damaged by wind.

Flag is printed on one side. Due to the fine, open structure, the motif is visible on the reverse side as a mirror image at approx. 98%. Your design is therefore clearly visible from both sides – ideal for hoisted flags and beach flags.
Typical areas of application
Flag can be used both indoors and outdoors. The material is flame-retardant and therefore also approved for public areas. The most common applications include banners, beach flags, hoist flags, construction fence banners, and facade flags.
The inks used are not UV-resistant. Over time, the colors may fade when used outdoors – however, this process usually takes longer than the service life of the material and is generally not critical.
Variants of flag fabric
- Flag: the standard variant with proven quality for many applications.
- Flag PET: visually comparable to Flag, but made from 100% recycled material.
- Flag CiCLO®: visually identical to Flag, but biodegradable thanks to special CiCLO® technology – the more sustainable alternative. New legal regulations may restrict the recycling of Flag PET, which is why Flag CiCLO® is increasingly recommended.
- Flag Longlife: robust flag material with a coarser structure that frays less quickly. A hem is not absolutely necessary here – ideal for long-term outdoor use.
Finishing options
Various finishing options are available for Flag. A hook-and-loop tape is often used – ideal for mast flags. A hemstitch can be applied to the upper edge so that the flag remains clearly visible even in light winds.
To extend the service life, Flag can also be hemmed. Other options include Velcro tape, hemstitching, ribbons with D-rings, cords, or eyelets. Please note: Due to stretching and shrinkage, the dimensional stability of the material may vary by approximately 1–2%.
